UP THE COAST

Last weekend a couple friends and I escaped up the coast for the weekend. The Northern California coast is one of my favorite areas. When I first visited in high school, I fell in love with the rugged coastline and the city of San Francisco.

We took our time working our way up Highway 1 just taking in the view. And the rain let up just in time for us to hit Big Sur.

We had all been to San Francisco before, so it was nice to just hang out in the city without feeling the pressure to hit up tourist spots. (Though, we couldn't pass up the Golden Gate. And snapping a shot of a trolley.)

We also may have spent way too much time art directing Instagrams of coffee and cocktails. (If you're down to brave Tenderloin, you should check out the speakeasy Bourbon & Branch!)

We stayed at The Good Hotel, which is super adorable and affordable. (Though once you noticed the slanted floor, you can't un-notice it.) They have a photo booth in the lobby that gives you two copies: one for you, one for the wall. Be warned, though. It is hard to fit three people in that little space.

It may have only been a few days, but it was so nice to get away from Southern California for the weekend. And it certainly made me fall in love with the west coast all over again.
